 The Highlights

Fantastic integration solves major Escape Room marketing challenges! 90 days of Social Flash MOBILE at The Real Escape Canada.

Introduction

Located in Winnipeg, Manitoba, The Real Escape Canada believes that the overall experience should be entertaining, challenging, and thematically immersive for each player. Their 8 (currently) escape rooms contain atmospheric elements and technology that create a whole new level of adventure and gameplay.

The Real Escape reached out to us with a free trial request of Social Flash MOBILE in mid-January, 2018. They were primarily pursuing an easier way to capture their team photos, add themed frames to the images, and most importantly deliver them to their customers on-the-spot. The hope was that this was a solution to reduce the considerable employee expense spent uploading the photos to their Facebook page and solving the forgotten – “you will find your photo on our Facebook page within the next couple of days… please find your photo and tag yourself!” Delivering the team photos, with the social and marketing assets directly to the customers, eliminated the uncertainty of their marketing efforts.

How They Integrated
Social Flash MOBILE

The crew at The Real Escape hit the ground running.  After our creative team helped to set up their promotions and photo frames for all 8 rooms, they were integrating the MOBILE app into their daily team photo taking process.

Their Work Flow

  • After a team completes its Escape Room effort, they gather for a team photo.
  • The custom room theme is selected on the MOBILE app room list, then the game master takes several photos of the group.
  • The photos are immediately sent to the customers via email or text, or through the gallery in the lobby.
  • The management at The Real Escape shifted their Facebook content away from every team photo occupying the valuable space to more interesting and varied content that brings fan page engagement. They no longer rely on Facebook for customer photo retrieval.
  • The customers now have a branded photo created on a custom-branded micro-site and can instantly share the photos to Facebook with all the “Real Escape Canada” marketing assets and web links attached and trackable.
  • This venue has multiple floors, so several iOS devices are utilized with their single location subscription to accommodate their logistical concerns.

 The Results

The Real Escape Canada used Social Flash MOBILE to take more than 5,800 photos in the first 90-days of use. This works out to be an average of 58 photos per day, every day of the week. Customers voluntarily sent more than 5,400 branded photos to themselves in this same period.

As you can see from the analytics below, 1,322 of those photos were shared on Facebook and another 83 shared on Twitter (28% of all photos taken were shared on social media by way of the branded landing page), creating more than 26,000 brand engagements for the period and more than 3,800 clicks to the escape room website.

This translated to the following – for every group photo taken, they achieved an additional 4 online brand engagements through the social media journey. Many of these were from comments and likes by friends and family of their current customers, most of which are prospective new customers for their venue. With Social Flash Media’s MOBILE offering, they began converting their customers into product ambassadors and leveraging hundreds of personal social networks.

 Takeaways

The process of the SF MOBILE app not only reduces labor costs for The Real Escape, but clearly brings previously unavailable value through social media awareness.  The number of photos taken and received is now quantifiable.  The photo keepsake represents the quality of the team experience in real-time.  The SFM platform makes financial sense.  If we break this down to the singular metric of clicks to the customer’s website, the cost per click (CPC) was roughly $0.11.  When comparing this value to Facebook paid advertising, it is a fraction of the cost for this result alone.  In conjunction with the other components of this value chain the platform simply links our message with our clients social circles organically.  The Real Escape now offers their happy clients a way to advertise continuously for them at a fixed price.

Testimonial

“Taking group photos changed from being something we dreaded dealing with each day and even considered getting rid of all together to a painless and streamlined process. With the Social Flash MOBILE app the photos are now taken and done with in one easy step!

Social Flash Media has been a great addition to our escape room.  We used to take our photos with a digital camera and upload them to our Facebook page at the end of the night.  This uploading always took a lot of time and somehow photos were often missed, causing tons of emails from customers looking for photos.  With the new Social Flash Media app, photos are sent directly to our customers making a much easier process for the customers and us.  Furthermore, the app encourages people to share our photos directly onto their own Facebook or Twitter pages, which essentially is free advertising for us.  Derick and his team made it extremely easy to get set up and we couldn’t be happier with their product.”
